The high time for the 2027 recruiting cycle is quickly approaching, especially for teams like Auburn, which have completed spring football. New Auburn head coach Alex Golesh will have his best chance at making a splash for the Tigers in his first full offseason with Auburn.

Golesh is about to have his biggest opportunity for a recruiting win than he ever has and he will know by Wednesday, April 22. Five-star quarterback Will Mencl in the Class of 2027 has announced he will make his commitment live on the Rivals YouTube Channel, picking between Auburn, Oregon, and Penn State.

According to the Rivals Prediction Machine, Oregon is the leader for his commitment, but with Dylan Raiola already planning to be the quarterback in 2027 after sitting for the next season behind Dante Moore, maybe Mencl will decide to go elsewhere.

Mencl has taken visits to all three finalists so far this spring and was even in Auburn earlier in January, giving him multiple visits with Golesh. Mencl is one of the biggest names at the quarterback position left on the 2027 recruiting board, and his commitment would be huge for Golesh.

The Arizona native is rated as the No. 49 player in the Class of 2027, the No. 3 quarterback in the class, and the No. 1 player in the state of Arizona according to Rivals Industry Rankings. Golesh only has two recruits in the Class of 2027 at Auburn as of right now, so Mencl would be a huge boost and good momentum for the Tigers heading into the thick of the recruiting season.

Auburn fans can see Mencl make his decision on the Rivals YouTube Channel at 7:30 p.m. EST at Chandler High School in Arizona.
