It's been a busy week for Auburn athletic director John Cohen. On Monday, Bruce Pearl announced his retirement after 11 years as the Tigers' head men's basketball coach, with his son, Steven, taking his place.
That followed a football game on Saturday that ended in a 24-17 loss for Auburn at Oklahoma, which included several controversial plays that went against the Tigers. There was a fumble recovery that Auburn returned for a touchdown that was ruled an incomplete pass. The Sooners scored a second-quarter touchdown on a play that should have earned Brent Venables' side a 15-yard unsportsmanlike penalty. And then there was the non-call on Cam Coleman as he was being dragged down by a defender, with the referees having his head turned the other way.
On Saturday night, SEC Officiating released a statement saying that the missed call on the Oklahoma touchdown was wrong. On Monday, Auburn head coach Hugh Freeze stated on his weekly show, Tiger Talk, that he had heard from SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey about the blown calls.
Now, on Thursday, Cohen released a statement blasting the SEC and stating that Auburn deserves better.

The Tigers travel to College Station, Texas, to take on No. 9 Texas A&M on Saturday. Let's hope that the SEC officiating won't get in the way of another Auburn victory.
