Since the news of his transfer commitment to Auburn football last December, wide receiver Eric Singleton Jr. has been one of the most talked-about players on the Tigers' roster.

The No. 1 receiver in the transfer rankings, Singleton spent two seasons at Georgia Tech before arriving on the Plains. He logged 104 passes for 1,468 yards and 10 touchdowns in his career with the Yellow Jackets, and was expected to make an instant impact for theTigers.

According to head coach Hugh Freeze, the wide receiver has definitely lived up to those expectations throughout the offseason.

"We're thrilled we got Eric," Freeze said, per Auburn Undercover. "I love his work ethic. Love talking to him. He's got a great demeanor about him. He loves the game. We can highlight him because he's a heck of a player.

"Eric definitely adds a little different dimension to it that I think is going to benefit us."

Speaking at SEC Media Days several weeks ago, quarterback Jackson Arnold echoed Freeze's praise.

"We've got dudes that can absolutely stretch the field, and on top of that, they can run fantastic routes," Arnold said. "I feel like throwing to Eric Singleton is like throwing routes on air."

With a new quarterback and one of the most talented wide receiver groups in the country, Auburn football is expected to show off a new and improved offense this fall. Singleton is joined by fellow transfer Horatio Fields (Wake Forest) alongside returners Cam Coleman, Malcolm Simmons and Perry Thompson. With a few promising freshmen in the ranks as well, the Tigers are poised to look much more impressive in the passing game this season.

Auburn football returns to action later this month on August 29 in a Friday night season opener against the Baylor Bears in Waco, Texas.
