New Auburn head coach Alex Golesh has some serious work to do for the Class of 2027 in terms of recruiting. Right now, Golesh only has two commits in the class: four-star defensive lineman Donivan Moore and three-star tight end Trae Proctor. However, Golesh could be on his way to gett his third commitment with a huge official visit schedule with four-star quarterback Israel Abrams.
Abrams is a highly sought-after recruit with 247Sports ranking him as the No. 2 quarterback in the Class of 2027 and the No. 22 player in the class as well. Many major programs are after Abrams' commitment, including Auburn, and the young quarterback has set his official visits.
The four-star quarterback is set to visit Golesh and the Tigers on June 5, the second visit in his lineup. Other notable schools after Abrams who also have official visits set up are Purdue, Kentucky, and Florida State. Tennessee is also in the mix, but an official date for his visit has yet to be announced.

Golesh needs to push hard to land Abrams, as he needs a quarterback for the future. In the Class of 2026, Auburn only has one quarterback commit, and that is three-star recruit Rhys Brush. Auburn has faith in Brush, but Golesh wants to bring in a guy of his own, and Abrams could be a star for the future.
In his junior season at Montini Catholic High School, Abrams threw for 4,072 yards and 40 passing touchdowns, nearly doubling his numbers from his sophomore season. He also added 10 rushing touchdowns, proving that he can be a dual-threat guy for whoever he chooses to play for.
With official visits into late June, Abrams probably won't announce his commitment till later in the summer, so Auburn fans will have to wait to hear if Golesh got his guy. Either way, Auburn will need to impress Abrams at his official visit to beat out the other big SEC programs pushing for him as well.
