With only three scholarship offensive linemen returning for Alex Golesh and the Auburn Tigers, there was plenty of work to do in the transfer portal to beef up the trenches. Golesh and his staff picked up another big addition in the portal on Wednesday night with the commitment of former Miami interior offensive lineman Daryc Plazz.

Under new NCAA rules, the transfer portal window lasted from Jan. 2 to Jan. 16, but players whose season was extended by the National Championship game on Jan. 19 get an extra five days. Plazz entered the transfer portal following his team's loss in the championship game, and he committed to the Tigers after a visit to the Plains earlier this week.

"The people!" Plazz said of his choice to commit to Auburn, per Auburn Undercover. "The people sold me on the program. The support staff as well as coaches. Everyone is genuine and speaks of Coach Golesh in high regard — that stood out to me. Coach Hoodie [offensive line coach Tyler "Hoodie" Hudanick] has a legit plan for me and a vision to develop me.

"To the fans, I'm excited to be an Auburn Tiger. Excited to get to work to be a part of the reload WDE!"

From Jacksonville, Florida, Plazz signed with the Hurricanes as a member of the 2024 recruiting class. He redshirted his freshman season and played as a backup in the 2025 season. He will have three years of eligibility remaining.

Plazz is the 35th incoming transfer for the Auburn football program.
