Hugh Freeze's two-season-long streak of having a Top 10 recruiting cycle was broken in 2025. Now, Freeze is on a comeback trail to reclaim the reputation of being one of the best recruiters in the country.

Saturday, the same day they won another game this season against Ball State, turned out to be a highlight in the journey. Several recruits flocked to Jordan-Hare Stadium for an unofficial visit of the program.

The lineup was studded with blue-chip prospects. The Wells brothers were one of the most talked about in the evening.

Corey Wells, a 4-star DL committed to Texas, had the most massive frame in the building at 6-foot-5, 300-pound. Adding a wall like him to the defensive line would be a dream come true for any head coach, let alone Freeze. Interestingly, Wells also tops the list of players predicted to flip their commitment to Auburn.

Chris Wells, Corey's brother and 3-star South Alabama edge commit, was also in attendance. So was Stanford commit and the most alluring player on the list, 4-star CB Lasiah Jackson.

"Look, I'm not the most religious or faithful person right now, but when I go to college, you know, I want to grow in that aspect," Jackson had said to Freeze. " I feel like Auburn is that school that could really do it for me."

Tico Crittendon, another 4-star from Georgia, is another defensive line star predicted to flip his commitment from Florida State to Auburn.

Donovan Moore, Elijah Brown, Carlos May, Wayon Wooten were among the other defensive linemen present, per Auburn Undercover.

The list of prospects was definitely defense-heavy this Saturday.

On the other side of the ball, Auburn had 4-star tight end Xavier Tiller and 4-star QB Peyton Falzone. Tiller remains a Florida State commit and on the watch list of potential big flips.

Falzone is already an Auburn commit and was on an official visit on Saturday. The Pennsylvania native said Auburn "was the best decision he ever made." Another Auburn commit, four-star edge Jacques Wilkes, was also in attendance.

Three-star Duke WR commit Deshawn Spencer also generated some buzz.

And all of that is just the visits Auburn hosted this weekend. Based on reports, the Tigers have several more interesting visits lined up.

Elijah Haven, a five-star QB who is possibly the No.1 QB in the Class of 2027, is one of them. Haven announced he will be visiting Auburn this fall for a game after the Tigers already paid him a visit this summer.

If Freeze can work his recruiting magic again, Auburn might be loading a top-five recruiting cycle for 2026.
