In today's edition of Auburn Tigers News, a 4-star QB enjoys his Auburn visit, and Johni Broome is named a first-team All-American
4-star quarterback Trent Seaborn made his way to the Plains earlier this month for a visit. Out of Thompson High School in Alabaster, Alabama, Seaborn has been building relationships with the Auburn football coaching staff for quite some time.
"I've known them for quite a while now," Seaborn said, per Auburn Rivals. "They've really shown interest in me, and I really like it down there, especially the campus. Everything about Auburn is great. When I went down there, I got to sit down and talk with Coach Stone about the offense that they run, and honestly, it's very similar to our offense. The way he was breaking it down, I really like what they do down there."
Seaborn also spent time with several of his former high school teammates who currently play for Auburn, and the group spoke highly of their transition to college ball. While the QB does not have a timeline for a commitment now, he does plan to return to the Plains for a spring practice.
Johni Broome is named a first-team All-American
Earlier this week it was announced that Auburn basketball senior Johni Broome is a unanimous first-team All-American. He becomes Auburn's fourth All-American and the first to make the first team. Alongside Broome on the first team is Duke's Cooper Flagg, Alabama's Mark Sears, Purdue's Braden Smith, and Florida's Walter Clayton Jr.
"I've proved a lot individually through my career, but my main goal is a team goal, which is to win the national championship," said Broome, per ESPN. "When the team shines, everyone shines individually. Coming from where I came from, it means a lot to me."
Auburn basketball returns to action on Thursday at 1:50 p.m. in the Round of 64.
