In today's edition of Auburn Tigers News, cornerback Antonio Kite has been dismissed from the team, and we look at the Auburn-Vanderbilt availability reports ahead of this weekend's game
The Auburn football secondary has seen some turbulence this season due to injuries and inexperienced freshmen, and it's not over yet. Earlier this week, Auburn Undercover confirmed that cornerback Antonio Kite has been dismissed from the team by head coach Hugh Freeze for a violation of team rules.
Kite was in the midst of his first season as an Auburn Tiger after transferring from Alabama. Though he was a starter earlier this year, his playing time steadily decreased as freshmen Jay Crawford and Kensley Faustin overtook him.
The former Tiger played in all games this season but spent most of the last few games on special teams. He racked up six tackles and an interception before his dismissal.
Auburn-Vanderbilt availability reports
As it does every week, the SEC has released the availability reports for teams playing this weekend. Teams are required to submit a likelihood of playing for each player but is not required to disclose injuries or statuses.
Defensive back Keionte Scott and kicker Alex McPherson are new additions to this week's report. Scott played only on special teams in last weekend's matchup against Kentucky and has missed some practice with an ankle injury, according to Auburn Undercover. McPherson's status is probably in an abundance of caution after he made his season debut last weekend.
