After a season-opening win against Baylor, the Auburn Tigers are hitting their stride. The program opened the gates to the Jordan-Hare Stadium for the season's first practice viewing session.

The squad had a productive day overall in their practice session on Tuesday, but it was two wide receivers who became the center of attention. AL.com reported some standout performances from Tigers' star wide receivers Cam Coleman and Horatio Fields.

"Practice wrapped up with 1-on-1 drills between the wide receivers and the secondary. Coleman got the best of Raion Strader on a comeback route to kick off the drill. Horatio Fields made an acrobatic catch over starting DB Kayin Lee in the corner of the endzone. Fields also got a nice snag over the other starter in Jay Crawford," AL.com's Jerry Humphrey III observed.

The rest of the Tigers' receiver room, better known as the Freeze Four, didn't disappoint either.

"A few other wide receiver victories came from Eric Singleton besting freshman safety Eric Winters on an inside slant route. Malcom Simmons also beat freshman AnQuon Fegans in the same route concept just on the opposite side of the field."

The progress sounds promising for Freeze's squad, especially since the Tigers' head coach emphasized the need to create more opportunities for the passing game in their upcoming matchups during his press conference on Monday.

"I think that will come when, at some point, you’re going to have a box that you don’t like and you’re going to have to throw the football to win football games," Freeze said.

"And those days are coming. The good thing is I think we have the ability and people that can do that. It’ll be good to get Jackson (Arnold) some of those reps sooner than later, but in that game, in particular it was just very difficult when you’re ripping off good runs, not to continue to do that. Control the clock and not give that ball back to them, because I think they’re a really good offense. So I think that time’s coming where we get to see the full aspect of what we can be.”

Freeze' strategy and it's execution in the practice sessions looks solid. We'll see how it holds up this Saturday as they welcome Ball State to the Plains.
