As the weather heats up on the Plains, so does recruitment for the Auburn football program. Prospects from all over the country will be setting up official and unofficial visits throughout the rest of May and June before the dead period begins on June 23.
Over the weekend, the Tigers hosted 5-star defensive lineman Bryce Perry-Wright for his official visit. From Buford, Georgia, Perry-Wright is ranked as the No. 32 overall recruit and the No. 2 defensive lineman in the recruiting class of 2026. He is ranked as the No. 5 prospect out of the Peach State.
According to his recruiting profile on 247 Sports, Perry-Wright totaled 57 tackles and nine sacks last season and made the rosters for both the Polynesian Bowl and Navy All-American Bowl.
It was not his first visit to Auburn's campus, but the DL said it was the most in-depth trip he'd had so far. He enjoyed learning more about the program and spending more time with Auburn defensive coordinator DJ Durkin, who has been a familiar figure throughout Perry-Wright's recruitment.
"I saw them this spring, they came this spring twice," Perry-Wright said per Auburn Rivals of the Tigers' coaching staff. "I was meeting with them then. And then just knowing them for, what, three years now? Coach Durkin was at Texas A&M and now Auburn. So having a relationship with them is a big part."
Perry-Wright has planned four additional official visits this summer after kicking things off with Auburn football. He will officially visit Clemson on May 30, Miami on June 6, Texas on June 13 and Texas A&M on June 20. He has no timeline for a final decision yet, but he feels he would find success in Durkin's scheme on the Plains.
"Shoot, proof is in the pudding," Perry-Wright said. "You see all the players: Walter Nolan, the whole Texas A&M D-line that just left, they were in his scheme. And then some of the new guys at Auburn."
