Former Ole Miss Rebels fullback Charles Stackhouse believes Nick Saban has a clear agenda to push for a system in College Football that benefits the Alabama Crimson Tide and LSU Tigers, the two teams he won national championships with. Stackhouse accused Alabama and LSU of illegally spending and sardonically "welcomed" Saban's former teams to "mediocrity."

Per Stackhouse's X account, "Saban just wants Bama and LSU to be able to cheat and be elite again. Those days of being the big Teams bc they illegally spend big dollars are long gone. Welcome to mediocrity!"

Saban shared months ago that he wants a degree of NIL/rev-share, but not what's happening right now; coincidentally, amid a three-year streak in which an SEC school has not won the national championship. Schools are exceeding $40 million in payroll, and Saban wants to dial that back.

“Players need to get compensated, no doubt. But it has to be done in a way where, you know, in some kind of way, have competitive balance, you know, and that every school has the same thing. One school can’t spend $30 million for players while another schools spending $3 million," said Saban. “All I’m saying? The people out there need to know this model is unsustainable. It’s not good for players."

At Donald Trump's College Sports Roundtable on Friday, Saban was full "old man yelling at clouds" mode and criticized players over the past several years for how they spend their money, hence Stackhouse's clapback.

Nick Saban is approaching giga-villain status

Saban trying to take money out of players' hands is diabolical. It's so unpopular that his legacy, for those too young to have experienced his dominance in Tuscaloosa, will be hijacked by his involvement with Trump to rein in NIL/rev-share.

Why no comments on coaching salaries, Nick? You don't care about men your age getting paid big bucks, but you care about kids getting those dollars?

Saban is quickly approaching giga-villain status. Continuing to play Pat McAfee's foil in ESPN's College GameDay while defending his pal Lane Kiffin's behavior during the Ole Miss-LSU coaching carousel debacle will surely win back over fans who've soured on the coaching G.O.A.T.

Just kidding, of course.
