Ole Miss Rebels football coach Lane Kiffin now has another suitor this offseason for his services: the Auburn Tigers. After firing Hugh Freeze on Sunday morning after a pitiful 10-3 loss to the Kentucky Wildcats, AU is now looking for its fourth coach since the 2020 season.

Kiffin, once known as a job-hopper, is now seen as a stability guy. If he can bring Ole Miss to unforeseen heights, then imagine him with a team that's actually won it all, like Auburn, the Florida Gators, or the LSU Tigers.

The Gainesville Sun's Andrew Abadie believes that, despite previously denying AU after signing a contract with the school and reneging after a plea from his daughter, Kiffin will be in the mix. Abadie also claimed Kiffin could be Auburn's version of Arkansas Razorbacks interim football coach Bobby Petrino.

"Picture this — there are multiple schools hoping to receive Kiffin’s rose, and the entire mix of schools could easily be their own characters," Abadie wrote.

"Auburn is likely the newest contestant, hoping to gain Kiffin’s hand. However, given the drama that occurred a few years ago, which almost ended with Kiffin taking the Auburn job, this may feel like the situation of a scorned lover. But hey, who cares about history if it leads to winning football games? A fine recent example is Arkansas and the return of Bobby Petrino."

Nick Saban believes Kiffin should stay put, and that's an opinion Lane values. With that said, the ceiling is unquestionably higher at Auburn, LSU, and Florida.

Do you try to win one and become a legend in Oxford, or try and win multiple and become a legend in the sport?

That's a very expensive question several SEC schools will attempt to have Kiffin answer soon enough.
