Auburn is catching many breaks against Georgia before the Tigers' trip to Athens for the Deep South's Oldest Rivalry game in Week 7.

UGA's best defensive back, safety KJ Bolden, has been downgraded to questionable for the Dawgs. Safety Tyriq Green and outside linebacker Darren Ikinnagbon have already been ruled out for the matchup.

Unrelated, but Bolden just basically admitted that Georgia got calls their way during the Dawgs' 20-17 win over Alabama this past Saturday that he would've been upset about if the calls were against him.

“He was staring down the receiver so I was like, the ball must be going over here,” Bolden said to WSB-TV's Zach Klein. “I didn’t like the position Braylon (Conley) was in, our cornerback, so I had to make a quick decision to go over there, try to save the day, just try to get the ball out, even if we get pass interference, as long as they don’t catch the touchdown — I was like we just got to get the ball down.

“I feel like I got there close, it could go any way, so I was looking around, there’s a lot of refs on the field, none of the refs threw a flag, then it’s not P.I. I’m not going to lie, if they did that to us, I would want them to call pass interference."

That non-PI call was one that many Tide fans point to as evidence that Alabama was screwed by the refs last weekend at Bryant-Denny Stadium.

Georgia missing several key offensive players against Auburn

UGA isn't just hurt defensively. Several key offensive skill-position players are also out against Auburn.

Receiver Isiah Canion and several running backs will be out of the lineup for the Dawgs against a Tigers defense that's missing star linebacker Xavier Atkins.

Does this mean Auburn has a chance against Georgia? Frankly, it might.

Kirby Smart's program is built to go all 60 and is renowned for late-game execution. Going to Sanford Stadium and coming away with a win seems hard to fathom.

Suspending Atkins was a major culture move for Alex Golesh, though. For as great as he is on the field, there were clearly problems off the field. If the best player isn't setting the example he should, the locker room suffers.

The Bulldogs are missing so many key players that you have to think Golesh's squad will make this thing interesting, regardless if the Tigers can pull what'd be the upset of the season in the SEC.
