Alabama cornerback Dijon Lee Jr. is the face of the Crimson Tide's Week 6 loss to Georgia, the country's clear best team.

A late personal foul, in which Lee threw a punch at Bulldogs receiver Craig Dandridge, moved the chains for UGA to seal the 20-17 loss for the Crimson Tide.

With the win, the Dawgs solidified their No. 1 spot in these power rankings. It was a wild day of upsets in the conference, but Georgia's victory was the least surprising of them.

Here's how the conference shakes out after six weeks of the 2026 college football season:

No. 1: Georgia

Beating Alabama only confirms what many already knew: UGA is the clear team to beat in the SEC and beyond.

No. 2: Alabama

Even after the loss, the Tide have no reason to think anyone besides the Dawgs deserve to be ranked above them. In fact, Alabama should feel good about its chances against Georgia in a neutral-site rematch. The refs did the Tide no favors in this one beyond Lee's mistake.

No. 3: Ole Miss

The loss to Florida looks stranger now, but Ole Miss bounced back in a big way with a 52-17 win over Vanderbilt.

No. 4: Texas

Losing the Red River Rivalry game to Oklahoma only confirms the other thing many suspected: Texas was a paper tiger of a No. 1 team. How the Longhorns respond will define whether they are now underrated after the loss in Dallas.

No. 5: Tennessee

Barely beating Arkansas is not a great look, but it seems the Volunteers now have proof that George MacIntyre behind center is a major facilitator for star running back DeSean Bishop (138 yards, one touchdown) in his second straight dominant showing.

No. 6: Kentucky

Kentucky upset LSU in overtime to announce the Wildcats' official return to the AP Top 25 Poll, which they never should've left after winning on the road at South Carolina next week.

No. 7: Missouri

Mizzou stomped out Texas A&M and proved that the Tigers are a sneaky contender in the SEC this season. The Rebels game next weekend will really put that idea to the test.

No. 8: Mississippi State

The Bulldogs had their bye in Week 6, but Mississippi State is one of the remaining one-loss teams in the conference.

No. 9: LSU

Losing to Kentucky on the road may not be that bad of a loss, but Lane Kiffin already having two defeats is a horrible look with Texas, Alabama, and Tennessee still on the schedule.

No. 10: South Carolina

Marching into the "Swamp" and embarrassing Florida is a big-time win for South Carolina. Shane Beamer bought his job security some buffer with this win.

No. 11: Oklahoma

Winning the Red River Rivalry is massive for Sooners head coach Brent Venables and offensive coordinator Ben Arbuckle's futures. Oklahoma finally got a quality win this season, and it was over Texas to boot.

No. 12: Florida

Losing two straight pretty convincingly has Gator fans irate at Jon Sumrall. Florida is certainly no 2019 LSU.

No. 13: Auburn

Even the Razorbacks don't look like an auto-win for Auburn after valiantly battling Tennessee. We'll see how the Tigers fare in the Deep South's Oldest Rivalry game. Moral victories may be the only attainable ones in Week 7 for AU.

No. 14: Arkansas

Arkansas, as mentioned wasn't half bad against the Volunteers. This is still going to be a tough season in Fayetteville, but the Razorbacks may be more competitive than previously thought.

No. 15: Vanderbilt

Nashville was only rocking because of Ole Miss's traveling fanbase. Vanderbilt gave them little to cheer for in the 35-point defeat.

No. 16: Texas A&M

Mike Elko called out a beat reporter for stirring up hate for the Aggies on social media after getting mogged by Mizzou. Texas A&M's current regime is absolutely cooked after another embarrassing loss. The 12th Man's finances are hurting from continued misguided spending.
