The Auburn football program will host two prospects currently committed to rival Alabama this weekend
So far the Auburn football program has welcomed lots of high-profile prospects to the Plains for recruiting visits, and the activity continues this weekend. Multiple camps will be going on this weekend, drawing recruits to the Plains, and other prospects will take their official visits with the Tigers.
According to Auburn Rivals, two of the official visitors expected this weekend are Antonio Coleman and Derick Smith, two in-state prospects who are currently committed to rival Alabama.
4-star defensive lineman Antonio Coleman has quite a recruiting history with the Iron Bowl contenders. The DL made his first commitment in the fall of 2023, when he committed to Alabama. Then, a couple months later in December, Coleman walked back his pledge to the Tide and flipped to Auburn. In March 2024, Coleman reversed his decision and flipped back to Alabama.
Despite his commitment to the Tide, Coleman continues to visit the Plains and there is a chance that the Tigers could get him to change his mind again before he puts pen to paper. Coleman, from Saraland, AL, is ranked as the #12 recruit out of the state of Alabama and the #19 DL in the recruiting class of 2025.
Also slated for an official visit this weekend is 4-star ATH Derick Smith, who committed to Alabama in March of this year. From Selma, AL, Smith is ranked as the #3 prospect out of the state and the #2 ATH in the recruiting class of 2025.
Smith committed to Alabama as a safety, but he is being recruited by Auburn football as a wide receiver. He officially visited Tuscaloosa last weekend, and his Auburn official visit this weekend will be a big opportunity for the Tigers to make a push for a flip.
