Auburn Tigers News: Bruce Pearl wants another transfer, Auburn football offers Chris Davis' son
In today's edition of Auburn Tigers News, Auburn basketball head coach Bruce Pearl is looking to add another transfer and Auburn football offers the son of Chris Davis
The Auburn basketball program has been very active in the transfer portal this offseason. With the transfers of Aden Holloway, Tre Donaldson, and KD Johnson paired with the departures of Lior Berman and Jaylin Williams, head coach Bruce Pearl has been working to reload his team ahead of the 2024-25 season.
The Tigers will welcome incoming freshmen Tahaad Pettiford and Jahki Howard this fall, and have already added two transfers from the portal: JP Pegues and Ja'Heim Hudson. According to Pearl, the Tigers are still after one more transfer.
“I think that's the last piece — one more impactful guard,” said Pearl, per Auburn Rivals. “We really need one more guy that has a chance to compete. It really doesn't matter for me which position it's going to be, whether it's a 1/2 or a 2/1, a 2/3, a 3/2 — it doesn't really matter. But it'll be one more guard.
Auburn football offers son of Chris Davis
Former Auburn football player Chris Davis cemented himself into Auburn history forever after carrying the ball 109 yards in the 2013 Iron Bowl, a game that has become known as The Kick Six. Alabama's field goal attempt was short, and Davis carried the ball all the way to the Auburn endzone as the clock ran out, giving the Tigers a 34-28 victory over the Tide.
Earlier this week, the Auburn football program extended an offer to Davis' son, Chris 'CJ' Davis, a running back in the recruiting class of 2028. This fall he will begin his freshman campaign at Hewett-Trussville in Alabama. The younger Davis was first offered by former Auburn football coach Gus Malzahn and UCF, and has also earned offers from Florida State and Arkansas.
