Auburn Tigers News: Jaylin Williams signs with Denver, fall camp injury report
In today's edition of Auburn Tigers News, former Auburn basketball player Jaylin Williams has signed a deal with the Denver Nuggets and we discuss the injury report as the football team begins fall camp
Auburn basketball's Jaylin Williams went undrafted this summer in the 2024 NBA Draft, but that did not keep him from pursuing his chance to play in the league. Thursday Morning, the Denver Nuggets announced via press release that the former Tiger has been signed to an Exhibit 10 contract, a one-year deal worth the minimum salary with bonus options.
Following five seasons with Auburn basketball, Williams left as the winningest player in program history. After going undrafted, Williams played for the Nuggets in the Summer League, and averaged 2.7 points and 1.3 rebounds in 7.8 minutes.
Auburn football injury report for fall camp
August 1 marks the first day of Auburn football's fall camp. Before August 31, the Tigers will fit in 15 practices to prepare for the second season under head coach Hugh Freeze.
Throughout the offseason, junior kicker Alex McPherson has been dealing with gastrointestinal issues that have kept him from being medically cleared to participate in practices with the team though he has been present in team meetings.
"Getting better, thankfully," Freeze said, per Auburn Undercover. "We're hopeful he'll be back with us soon."
If McPherson is unable to play this season, the Tigers are in good hands with true freshman Towns McGough, who showed off his skills at this year's A-Day spring game. His 58-yard field goal sealed the win for the offense.
Other than McPherson, the only other note provided by Freeze was that offensive tackle Tyler Johnson is dealing with a minor hamstring issue and will be held out of the first couple of practices. The majority of the Auburn football team are ready to go for fall camp.
