In today's edition of Auburn Tigers News, left tackle Tyler Johnson has impressed his teammates, and the Board of Trustees approves the next phase for the north end zone

Tyler Johnson was originally committed to Texas Tech, but the offensive lineman flipped his commitment to the Tigers and became part of Auburn football's recruiting class of 2023. He participated in three games in his first season on the Plains, but took advantage of the opportunities surrounding preparations for the Music City Bowl that allowed the younger players to get more experience.

Just over a year after his arrival on the Plains as a freshman, Johnson has locked down a starting position on the Tigers' offensive line — an honor that is well-deserved, according to his teammates.

"Just tremendous growth in a short period of time," center Connor Lew said after the Alabama A&M game, per Auburn Undercover. "It happened really quickly between the end of last season and now."

"I can't speak more about his growth over the last year," said offensive line coach Jake Thornton of Johnson. "... He just needed a year in the weight room to get it all figured out."

Board of Trustees approves the next phase for the north end zone

With the video board project fully under way in the north end zone of Jordan-Hare Stadium, Auburn's Board of Trustees has voted to approve the next phase of the construction, which is the selection process for an architecture firm to take on the project.

Construction is scheduled to begin after the 2026 football season and is expected to finish in the fall of 2028. The project, which will include premium seating, new concessions, conference room and event spaces, student activity rooms, and more, will move into formal design following the selection of an architect.
