In today's edition of Auburn Tigers News, transfer offensive lineman Philip Blidi talks about his official visit to the Plains and a former Auburn basketball player is set to visit Alabama

We're into the second day of the spring transfer portal window, and things are moving steadily for the Auburn football program. Earlier this week the team hosted former Indiana defensive lineman Philip Blidi for an official visit to the Plains and he left with a positive opinion of the Tigers.

With only one year of eligibility left, Blidi's main concern in choosing his new program is development, according to Auburn Rivals, and he sees potential for development with Auburn football.

"Auburn does check those boxes, just the guys they’ve been able to develop," Blidi said. "Coach [Vontrell King-Williams] is a really great coach and he’s been able to work with a lot of guys, really helped a lot of guys’ game. Just seeing what he would do to improve my game, really shows me that he can take me to the next level and where I want to go."

Former Auburn basketball player set to visit Alabama

In a strange turn of events, a former Auburn basketball player could become a current Alabama basketball player. Guard Aden Holloway entered the transfer portal earlier this month, and has reportedly set up a visit to Tuscaloosa this week.

Though the true freshman had a hot start to the season, he struggled to find consistency in his offense once the Tigers got going in SEC play and things never seemed to click for the McDonald's All-American.

Holloway averaged 7.3 points, 1.5 rebounds and 2.7 assists in the 2023-24 season. He was a 5-star prospect out of high school and was ranked as the #26 overall player in ESPN's rankings. With a lot of room to grow, the young guard still has the potential to develop, but it would be nice if he chose to do so with a team other than the Tide.
