In today's edition of Auburn Tigers News, Auburn football lands a safety from the transfer portal, and Auburn basketball hosts a forward transfer from SMU

The Auburn football program has landed a late commitment from the transfer portal. Former Northwestern State safety Antwon Fegans Jr. committed to the Tigers on Wednesday afternoon on his personal X, formerly Twitter, account.

An Alabama native, Fegans Jr. was a 3-star out of high school and signed with Arkansas State, where he played for two seasons before transferring to Northwestern State. He spent the last two seasons with the Demons but played in only five games last season, recording six total tackles and one tackle for loss. He will have three years of eligibility left.

Meanwhile, head coach Bruce Pearl and Auburn basketball hosted another transfer this week. Former SMU forward Ja'Heim Hudson was on campus and left with a great impression of the program.

“It was lovely, I loved it,” Hudson said, per Auburn Live. “This is a wonderful environment, great place to be, so welcoming. That was the best thing, I’ve never been so welcomed like this. You can feel the energy as soon as you step on campus.”

Hudson went on to say that the Tigers' coaching staff gave him a straightforward pitch, explaining expectations and how he would fit into the program. He also noted that as a kid who grew up in Georgia, Auburn is the place to be. The forward isn't afraid of competition for playing time either, which he will face with returning forward Chaney Johnson.

“I do want to start. I’m telling them I want to start. I want to have a huge role in the winning factor,” Hudson said. “I’m all for competition. Coming, I’m going to put my best foot forward. I’m going to come in and work and my work will show.”

The Auburn basketball program will have to fend off The University of Texas-Arlington and Nebraska to earn the commitment of the forward, but it seems like the Tigers' offer will be hard to beat.
