Several elite 2025 prospects visited campus this weekend and talked about their experiences with Auburn football

Another weekend another recruiting visit for Auburn football. With the coaching staff replacements mostly taken care of and the majority of the 2024 class locked in, head coach Hugh Freeze and his assistants have mostly shifted their attention to recruiting the class of 2025.

With Nick Saban's retirement, a number of former Alabama commits have made their way to the Plains, but plenty more elite prospects are considering Auburn football, too. Two of those recruits, 5-star quarterback Julian Lewis and 4-star wide receiver Cameron Sparks, spoke to the media about their campus visits over the weekend.

Julian Lewis is currently committed to USC, but the Carrollton, GA, native wanted to spend some time getting to know the Auburn football coaching staff and see what Auburn is like outside of football. According to Auburn Rivals, Lewis' interest was piqued by the wide receiver class the Tigers signed in December:

"I mean, you gotta have guys to throw the ball to," Lewis said. "Kids like Cam Coleman and stuff are people you can get the rock to. That’s our job at the end of the day, so it’s definitely something to look at."

Lewis plans to return to the Plains sometime this spring and stay in contact with the coaching staff.

Cameron Sparks is ranked as the #1 ATH in the recruiting class of 2025 and the #2 recruit out of the state of Tennessee. This weekend was his second trip to Auburn, and the faith, culture, and fans are what stood out to Sparks most.

Though he's listed as both a wide receiver and an athlete, Sparks is being recruited to the Plains by tight ends coach Ben Aigamaua, who sees the Sparks playing a role similar to that of Rivaldo Fairweather, per Auburn Rivals:

"I’d be spread out all over the field, kinda like they’re doing Rivaldo right now," Sparks said. "I’d be single receiver, slot receiver, sometimes winged up, just all over the field. I’d be cool with that."

Sparks will visit Tennessee and Georgia, and is considering Miami and Florida State in his recruitment as well, but after his visit the Auburn football program is high on list.
