Flip watch: Auburn football trending up for GA Tech WR commit
The Auburn football program is pushing to flip 3-star wide receiver and Georgia Tech commit Sam Turner
After Big Cat Weekend on the Plains, the Auburn football program's recruiting momentum has skyrocketed. Three recruits from the class of 2026 committed on Saturday, and the 2025 commits continue rolling in, making it more like a Big Cat Week.
It's full steam ahead for the Tigers' coaching staff as they work to solidify their recruiting class of 2025, and one of the next pieces to fall into place could be 3-star wide receiver Sam Turner. From Decatur, Georgia, Turner is ranked as the #75 wide receiver in the class of 2025 and is the #52 overall recruit out of the Peach State.
He committed to Georgia Tech in early June, and didn't receive an offer from Auburn football until the end of the month. Since then, the Tigers — led by wide receivers coach Marcus Davis — have been recruiting him nonstop, and he made his way to the Plains for Big Cat Weekend.
According to Auburn Rivals, the weekend went extremely well for the wide receiver, who left Auburn's campus with a lot to think about:
"It’s not the next four years, it’s the next 40," Turner said. "So it’s a big decision.”
Prior to his offer from Auburn football, Turner officially visited Georgia Tech and BYU, though it's likely safe to say that if the wide receiver does not stick to his Yellow Jackets pledge Auburn is the choice.
Turner hopes to make a final decision and officially shut down his recruitment ahead of his senior season this fall, so it should not be long before we get an answer about where Turner will play college ball. For now, we are officially placing Georgia Tech wide receiver commit Sam Turner on flip watch.
