The Texas A&M Aggies and Oklahoma Sooners had been having an old-timey shootout at the top of the 247Sports composite team rankings for the 2027 high school cycle. TAMU grabbed the lead in December, gave it up to OU for a spell, and has reclaimed it once again. On Sunday, though, a new suitor entered the top two.

Neither TAMU nor OU landed a Jeremiah Smith-caliber talent for their receiving corps on Sunday, but both are hoping they may have landed a Brock Boyd-esque riser for when they arrive on campus for their first spring. The Sooners landed an interior offensive lineman with cross-positional versatility as well. The U added a 4-star defender from the region, though, shaking up the top of the totem pole.

These major recruiting wins, plus an intriguing update for a Fort Worth-area recruit that the Aggies, Texas Longhorns, and Ohio State Buckeyes are all targeting, comprised the SEC's biggest headlines on Sunday.

Alabama and Florida 4-star recruits get flipped by rivals

Texas A&M lands 3-star receiver over Louisville and Michigan State

Texas A&M went up to Cleveland, Ohio, and stole a regionally local receiver from the Louisville Cardinals and Michigan State Spartans. Trey Haddad, a star at St. Ignatius, which plays in the OHSAA's Division I, Region 1, adds to the Aggies' No. 1 2027 high school class with his commitment on Sunday.

Haddad has a yeoman's attitude, steadily improving his route-running while also playing an extremely physical brand of football in the slot. He'll be a good fit in Mike Elko's blue-collar culture and Holmon Wiggins' receiver-centric offense.

Oklahoma lands 3-star receiver and 3-star IOL

Not to be outdone, the Sooners grabbed a receiver from the St. Louis metro, Cardinal Ritter College Prep's Malahn Green. The Nebraska Cornhuskers were the other team in the hunt, having offered Green last month. Green won't be joining Big Red, instead opting to join the recruiting wave in Norman.

Green will likely have true freshman Bowe Bentley, a big spring riser this year, under center by the time he arrives at OU next year. Stormin in Norman's Dekota Gregory predicts that Green's rating may soar by the time he's wearing the Oklahoma Crimson, Black, and White.

The Sooners also added 3-star Bushland IOL Jaxon Lawler, who had interest from Oklahoma's Bedlam rival, the Oklahoma State Cowboys, and the Wake Forest Demon Deacons. Lawler has experience at left tackle and as a long-snapper.

5-star recruit ineligible for 2026 in Texas Class 6A Division I football

Per the Dallas Morning News's Greg Riddle, Aggies, Sooners, and Buckeyes target, 5-star cornerback John Meredith III, was ruled ineligible to play for North Crowley High School in Fort Worth after transferring from Euless Trinity High School.

His team will be appealing the ruling, which currently blocks Meredith's move within Division I 6A football. The decision came down to a 5-2 vote in the District 11-6A executive committee. Meredith's transfer was deemed purely driven by athletic reasons.

Miami keeps 4-star safety home, away from Florida and Georgia

We finish on a triumphant story for the Miami Hurricanes, which kept 4-star North Miami Beach safety Andre Hyppolite in South Florida, away from the Florida Gators and Georgia Bulldogs. In the process, the Canes also usurped the Sooners for the No. 2 spot behind the Aggies in 247Sports' 2027 team rankings.

Hyppolite had five interceptions in 2025 while also tallying 32 receptions for 405 yards and four touchdowns as a two-way player. His addition keeps Miami moving towards the top of the 2027 class after a CFP runner-up season in 2025/2026.
