When head coach Hugh Freeze took the job with Auburn football several years ago, he knew there was a lot of work to do to get the Tigers back to being an elite, competitive program, and that all started with recruiting better talent to the Plains.
Heading into his third season, Freeze has at least succeeded in getting better players on the roster, including some who are being nationally recognized. Ahead of the 2025 season, three Auburn football players were given preseason All-American honors from a magazine preview.
Sophomore wide receiver Cam Coleman and junior defensive end Keldric Faulk were both named third-team All-Americans by Athlon Sports.
Entering his second season with the Tigers, Coleman has not yet reached his full potential after struggling with a minor injury early last season. He finished his freshman campaign with 598 yards on 37 catches and eight touchdowns and is poised to accomplish even more this fall.
Faulk has been a star on the Auburn football defense since he was a freshman, and he's likely headed to the NFL after his junior year on the Plains. In two seasons, Faulk has recorded 80 tackles, 14.5 tackles for loss, eight sacks, and one forced fumble.
Transfer wide receiver Eric Singleton Jr. was named a second-team All-American by Lindy's. Aside from quarterback Jackson Arnold, Singleton is the most talked-about transfer addition for the Tigers and was the most highly ranked transfer to join the roster. He began his career at Georgia Tech, and after two seasons, tallied 104 catches for 1,468 yards and nine touchdowns.
All three of these players are set to make a big impact for the Auburn football team this season and are deserving of the preseason honors. The Tigers return to action on Friday, August 29, against Baylor in Waco, Texas.
