Things are heating up for the recruiting class of 2027, and Auburn Tigers head football coach Alex Golesh and his staff are working hard to secure a strong class.

The Tigers have already secured two commits in 3-star tight end George Lemons Jr. and 4-star defensive lineman Donovan Moore, but more commits could be on the way soon. Three athletes interested in Auburn football have commitment dates set in the coming days.

The first is perhaps the most important of the group. 5-star quarterback Will Mencl is set to announce his commitment on Wednesday, April 22, and the race will come down to Oregon, Auburn and Penn State. Reports indicate Mencl would like to have his official decision made as soon as possible, and though Oregon is viewed as the favorite, Golesh and the Tigers are giving the Ducks a run for their money. Mencl is from Chandler, Arizona, and is the No. 8 QB in the recruiting class of 2027.

Next up, the Tigers could secure the commitment of 4-star running back Myson Johnson-Cook, who is back on the Plains for a multi-day visit with Auburn football ahead of his decision day, set for Saturday, April 25. Johnson-Cook seems to be deciding between Auburn and Miami, but with this week's visit, the Tigers will get the last shot at the running back. From East St. Louis, Illinois, Johnson-Cook is ranked as the No. 4 running back in the recruiting class of 2027.

Finally, 3-star running back Jeremiah Dent is set to announce his commitment on Saturday, May 2. With Johnson-Cook highly interested in the Tigers, Dent appears to be leaning more towards Arkansas and Ole Miss, but his top five also includes Auburn, Vanderbilt and Miami. Dent has an official visit planned to the Plains in June after his decision day, and nothing is set in stone until Signing Day this fall.
