Auburn basketball has officially missed the first part of the post-season after sitting out the SEC Tournament that was played in Nashville this weekend. After taking down Mississippi State, Tennessee, and finally LSU, Alabama was named SEC champs.

As if being an Auburn basketball fan in this postseason isn’t hard enough.

Now our team is no longer the reigning SEC Champion and the honor belongs to our rival school conveniently in the year that we aren’t contenders. At least they only won by one point.

Fans took to Twitter to let everyone know exactly how they felt about Alabama winning the tournament.

Auburn fans were also quick to point out the classic Alabama behavior displayed by the Crimson Tide’s head coach Nate Oats after the game:

Until next year, Alabama fans will be able to gloat about holding the SEC title in basketball, but Auburn’s roster is looking strong next year and Bruce Pearl’s squad should be able to hold their own come 2021. With today’s win, Alabama earned the No. 2 seed in the East division and their first opponent will be 15-seed Iona.
