One of the top defensive linemen in the recruiting class of 2023 is nearing his decision date, and the Auburn football program is one that he is seriously considering as his collegiate home. Though 4-star DL Reuben Bain has not yet released a top five list of schools, he plans to narrow the group down before the start of his senior season and make a final decision soon after.

Out of Miami, Florida, 4-star Reuben Bain is ranked as the #97 overall prospect and the #10 defensive lineman in the recruiting class of 2023 as well as the #22 recruit out of the Sunshine State.

While Auburn football is certainly still fighting to earn the commitment of the talented prospect, they’ll have to beat out Alabama, Oklahoma, and Miami, as well as one other program. For the final program in Bain’s top five, he’s considering Louisville, Tennessee, Florida State, and USC.

So far, the 247 Sports Crystal Ball predicts that Bain will end up at Miami, largely due to the fact that he has close family connections with the program. His brother is currently a graduate assistant for the Hurricanes and his uncle won a national title with Miami when he played for the school.

However, Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide have also put in the work to earn the favor of Bain. He praised the quality of the 2023 recruiting class at Alabama and called his official visit “eye opening” according to Auburn Undercover. At Oklahoma, Bain likes how head coach Brent Venables is pushing for a return to strong defensive play, and the Sooners are making Bain feel very wanted.

But don’t count the Tigers out yet. Bain spoke highly of head coach Bryan Harsin and his vision for the program, and is likely to make a return trip to the Plains before all is said and done. Though the competition is fierce, Auburn football is sticking around in the mind of Reuben Bain.
