In today's edition of Auburn Tigers News, 5-star safety Bralan Womack talks about his recent visit, and the baseball team won its first SEC series
Over the weekend, the No. 1 safety in the recruiting class of 2026 visited the Plains. 5-star Bralan Womack and his family made their way to Auburn's campus this weekend to visit with the football team and watch Womack's older sister, Ma'Nia, play softball for the Tigers.
Womack got the chance to speak more with his would-be position coach, TJ Rushing, and he says the relationship they are building is important in his recruitment. Also pushing for Womack to end up in orange and blue is current AU quarterback commit Deuce Knight, who is also from Mississippi.
"Me and Deuce are pretty close. We grew up together," Womack said, per Auburn Rivals. "He played with the same 7-on-7 that I started out with. So, yeah, we're pretty close in contact...He just tells me this is the place. Like, a lot of people call it God's country. So he tells me this is the place, and I kind of see it, you know. It gives – I don't want to say it's wrong, but it gives Oxford vibes with a small town, but friendlier people, better people. It's just – it's nice out here."
As of now, Womack currently doesn't have a solid timeline for his decision and wants to focus on his final season of high school ball.
Auburn baseball beats Vanderbilt
The Auburn baseball team opened SEC play this weekend with a series against Vanderbilt. The teams split the series with the Tigers winning Friday and Sunday and the Commodores taking Saturday's game.
Friday night the Tigers won 6-2, with the pitchers setting the tone and taking care of business. Saturday, Auburn baseball struggled with errors and walks and came up short 8-6. Sunday, the game finished in dramatic fashion after Cade Belyeu knocked in a grand slam to give the Tigers a comeback 7-6 win over the Commodores.
The Tigers return to action this Tuesday for a matchup with Alabama State on Tuesday night.
