In today's edition of Auburn Tigers News, an experienced offensive tackle hits the transfer portal, and we look at the signees playing in All-American games
Earlier this week, Fly War Eagle reported about a new NCAA ruling that impacts former junior college football players. After Vanderbilt quarterback Diego Pavia sued the NCAA in November for additional eligibility claiming that his JUCO years shouldn't count against him, the NCAA ruled on Monday to issue a blanket waiver, allowing JUCO transfers whose eligibility expires after this academic year an additional year of eligibility.
Auburn football offensive lineman Izavion "Too Tall" Miller is likely to return to the Plains for another season after the ruling, and cornerback Keionte Scott hit the portal with his extra year. Today, it was announced that offensive tackle Percy Lewis will be joining Scott in the portal.
Lewis spent one year on the Plains after transferring from Mississippi State. He was meant to be the starter at left tackle but was ultimately replaced by veteran Dillon Wade. As Lewis' eligibility was set to expire, he was not expected to return to the team and his loss will be a low impact for the Tigers.
