Today, one of Auburn football's top targets— 5-star safety Bralan Womack— will make a decision about where he will play ball at the next level.
From Flowood, Mississippi, Womack is ranked as the No. 15 overall player and No. 1 safety in the recruiting class of 2026. He is the No. 2 recruit out of his home state. He will be choosing between his four final schools: Auburn, Florida, Texas A&M and Ohio State. Each finalist got an official visit from the safety, who made his way to Florida in May and the other three schools throughout June.
Womack's Auburn football recruitment has been led primarily by safeties coach TJ Rushing though defensive coordinator DJ Durkin has been involved, as well. In addition to the strong relationships Womack has built with the Tigers' staff, there are several factors that help Auburn's case.
First, Womack's sister plays softball at Auburn, so his family is familiar with campus and the life of a student-athlete on the Plains. The Tigers also have recruited several players out of Mississippi, including current freshman quarterback Deuce Knight. Earlier this month, another Mississippi player, wide receiver Jase Mathews, committed to the Tigers, and Womack retweeted his announcement date on his personal X account. Should Womack commit to Auburn, he would be the third player in the recruiting class of 2026 out of Mississippi behind Mathews and running back Eric Perry.
In the week leading up to Womack's recruitment, several analysts and writers put in predictions for him to land at Auburn, including Auburn Sports' Jeffrey Lee and Rivals' Steve Wiltfong. Heading into commitment day, it seems very likely that 5-star sfafety Bralan Womack will begin his collegiate career as an Auburn Tiger.
