Auburn basketball forward Jaylin Williams was notably absent in the Tigers' recent victory over the Georgia Bulldogs. With a new starting lineup and bench guys stepping up in a big way, it was a big win on the road.

However, the Tigers will face a daunting challenge this week when they travel to Knoxville to take on the Tennessee Volunteers, the team that currently sits at the top of the SEC. This morning, head coach Bruce Pearl provided an update on Williams' injury to the media, per The Montgomery Advertiser:

"Jaylin will travel," Auburn coach Bruce Pearl said Tuesday. "While he was not available for Georgia, it's possible he could play tomorrow. We'll see how he does today. He moved around a lot yesterday; more than we thought he would. That may just be a game-time decision."

The Tigers and the Volunteers will tip off from Knoxville Wednesday night at 6:00 p.m.

4-star cornerback commits to Auburn football

Early this week, the Auburn football program added its ninth commit to the recruiting class of 2025 in 4-star cornerback Devin Williams. The Buford, Georgia, native is ranked as the #89 overall prospect and the #11 cornerback in the class of 2025 and is the #14 recruit out of the Peach State.

With over 30 offers, Williams ultimately chose the Tigers over several big programs from around the country including Notre Dame, Texas A&M, and more. The CB was most recently on the Plains at the beginning of February for the Tigers' Junior Day, and still has visits scheduled in March and April to TAMU and Notre Dame.

The Tigers' recruiting class of 2025 is currently ranked #7 overal and #3 in the conference behind LSU and Oklahoma.
