Alabama defensive line commit Antonio Coleman flips for a second time and commits to the Tigers once again
There was a lot of action in the early part of Big Cat Weekend on Saturday morning, but one recruit held off until the evening to make his big announcement. For the second time in his recruitment, 4-star defensive lineman Antonio Coleman has flipped from Alabama to Auburn football.
Coleman, who is ranked as the #20 defensive lineman in the recruiting class of 2025 and the #13 recruit out of the state of Alabama, made his first commitment last September, pledging loyalty to Alabama. Coleman proceeded to visit Auburn in October, and then flipped his commitment to the Tigers in late December.
The defensive lineman was back on the Plains in January, but decommitted and flipped his commitment back to the Tide a few months later in March. Despite his status as an Alabama commit, Coleman maintained communication with Auburn, visiting in March and again in June.
He took an official visit to Tuscaloosa last weekend, but showed up on the Plains for Big Cat Weekend, and decided that he'd like to commit to the Tigers again. His position coach, Vontrell King-Williams, was a big factor in that decision.
“He’s a great coach,” Coleman said, per Auburn Live. “He’s going to shoot it to you straight. If you have something going on that he feel like you can do to get better, he’s going to work his tail off to make sure you get to that level.
“What stuck out at Auburn is the coaches, the atmosphere and the opportunity I will have to play there."
Coleman is the fourth commitment of the day for the Auburn football program, and the second to join the Tigers' recruiting class of 2025 after Blake Woodby. He is the 18th addition to the class.
